Showcasing a new era of AI API’s
Our founder Tom & his son love bedtime stories. During Covid, Tom in-fact wrote a story about their adventures together in Devon (UK), with his sons Teddybear.
They were a massive hit, but at the same time took several weeks to write and edit.
Then in mid 2023, ChatGPT burst onto the scenes and all of a sudden gave copywriters the world over a cold sweat.
With it, Tom was able to build stories in no time. As he leaned in, he found that he got best results when he trained an assistant. This lead to You & I being born.
Tom has integrated the OpenAI assistant that he’s developed into a Flutter app where users can be taken through a series of Q&A to build up their story. Favourite stories can thereafter be saved for future reading, stored in Firebase which also provides user authentication.
It’s currently compiled into a web app, but could easily also be compiled into an iOS or Android application.

Once upon a twinkling evening in November, two jubilant friends, Otto and Willow, were buzzing with excitement. Today wasn’t just any ordinary day — it was Bonfire Night at Hammerwich Cricket Club, a night filled with sparkle and wonder!
Otto, with his cap jauntily tilted, and Willow, wearing a scarf that danced in the wind like a flag of joy, set out from their cozy homes. They skipped down the lane, their laughter mingling with the crisp autumn air. Leaves crunched underfoot, painting a path of gold and russet towards their grand adventure.
As they reached the gate of the cricket club, the air was electric with anticipation. Children of all ages clung to glowing sparklers, their faces alight with glee. Otto and Willow, with their eyes wide as saucers, found the perfect spot by the old elm tree—it had the best view of the sky, unobstructed and vast.
The first firework soared into the sky, bursting into a cascade of emerald stars. As they watched, a particularly luminescent firework shaped into the form of a majestic dragon. The dragon did not fade away; it descended gently to the ground near them, its scales sparkling with a kaleidoscope of colors.
“Otto, Willow,” it spoke in a warm, rumbling voice, “hop on for a wondrous journey!”Without a second thought, Otto and Willow climbed onto the dragon’s back. With a swift surge, they ascended, leaving the cricket club shrinking below. Quickly, they arrived at a cloud castle lit by a thousand fireflies. Fairies, wings fluttering softly, greeted them and offered cloudberries that tasted like dew and sunshine. The fairies wove crowns of starlight for Otto and Willow, celebrating the arrival of their human guests.
Next, the dragon whisked them over the Sea of Whispers. The moonlit waters below whispered secrets of the deep, revealing glimpses of submerged tales. A sea serpent frolicked near the surface, showing them hidden underwater rainbows.After exploring the sky-high castles and the whispering seas, the dragon circled back towards the cricket club as the last fireworks painted the night sky.
Otto and Willow, still thrilled by their enchanted expedition, promised under the night sky to always seek the magical in every corner of the world.Hand in hand, with stars in their eyes and dreams buoying their steps, they walked home. Their hearts were light, touched by magic, and their minds danced with memories they knew would last forever.
