Marketing Tool Facilitates Fast & Simple SMS Comms To Automotive Industry
We were faced with a problem. An franchise automative maintenance facility required ways to easily and quickly schedule follow up SMS messages to be sent to customers.
Their specific requirement was to have an easy and quick tool that could once per day schedule niche reminders to the days customers on scheduled and preventative maintenance.
Our Solution
A web admin dashboard, powered by a Parse Server that individual garages can sign up and subsequently log in to:
- Add customer name and mobile telephone number
- Add a vehicle – accessing data from the DVLA Vehicle & MOT API to obtain vehicle details and odometer data to calculate average mileage – assisting in the prediction of message timing.
- Message scheduling, with the ability to quickly add a simple reminder message with a preview of what the customer will receive.
The aim here is to create a tool that is quick and simple to use & not overly complicated.

Built Fast
This app went from discussion to working prototype within a week. It was usable within a day.
We move fast, ship, then iterate based on user learnings, rather than spend months designing and building something that the customer may not like.
What’s Next?
- Trial with initial garages
- Subscriptions – enabling garages to sign-up for a subscription automatically
- 2 Way Messaging – enabling the customer to be asked if they would like the garage to follow up and arrange for the works to be completed.
